Remembrance!

Sunday Message Summary by Rev. Abhijit Shome

✨ This April, we REMEMBER.

In this sacred month, we pause to reflect on the most historic event in the timeline of humanity — the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, given for our salvation and deliverance. This is not just a remembrance of a past event, but a living reality that defines who we are today.

🔥 The Power of Remembrance

📌 1. Remember the Sacrifice

Jesus said:

“Do this in remembrance of me.”
Luke 22:19

At the Last Supper, Jesus invited us to remember Him whenever we come to the table. This isn’t just about the bread and wine — it’s about remembering the blood that was shed, the body that was broken, and the freedom we now live in.

🔍 Supporting Scriptures:

  • Matthew 26:26–29

  • Mark 14:17–25

  • Luke 22:17–22

  • John 13:21–30

🩸 2. Covered by the Blood

There were 10 plagues in Egypt — but it was the blood of the lamb that saved the Israelites.

If the blood of Jesus is over our lives, then no evil can touch us.
But without it, the enemy has full access.

🕊️ “Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”1 Corinthians 5:7

Even when the world tries to pull us back, Jesus reminds us:

“You are a new creation.”2 Corinthians 5:17

⚖️ 3. From Sin to Righteousness

We were once condemned in sin…

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23

But now, through Christ, we are counted righteous!

“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”Romans 4:25
“For if while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son…”Romans 5:10

🔓 4. From Slavery to Freedom

We were once slaves to sin — but now, set free to serve God!

“When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness… but now you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God.”Romans 6:20, 22

💡 Even though we still face temptation, we no longer desire sin, because Jesus has broken our chains.

And like the Good Samaritan, let us remember to fulfill our responsibilities and serve wherever we are.
📖 Luke 10:25–37

🌱 5. From Death to Life

“You were dead in your transgressions and sins…”Ephesians 2:1

But now — we are alive in Christ!
We are made new, not to live for ourselves, but to praise God and fulfill His purpose.

🎵 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”Psalm 150

👑 6. From Destruction to Citizenship in Heaven

Once headed for destruction, now we are citizens of God’s Kingdom!

“Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”Philippians 3:20

🕊️ Jesus reminds us:

“You are not of this world.”John 14

💭 Remembrance Is More Than Memory

Remembering isn't just a mental act — it’s a spiritual discipline.
It redefines who we are, and reminds us:

It's no longer about I, me, and myself — it's all about God.

🙌 LET’S REMEMBER TO:

  • Worship boldly

  • Serve humbly

  • Live righteously

  • Praise continually

  • Love sacrificially
